Regional Science in a time of uncertainty, Bernard Fingleton
REGION, Vol 3, No 2 (2016)

REGION has just published an article based on the presentation given in response to the awarding of the EIB-ERSA-prize 2016 to Bernard Fingleton at the ERSA congress in Vienna,Austria.
Uncertainty is always with us, but what Bernard Fingleton means is the future is more uncertain than usual. We are moving into an era of experimental and unconventional fixes, such as negative interest rates. But these could have dangerous, unanticipated consequences. Professor Fingleton presents in his paper a model demonstrating the importance of cross-regional spillovers, and these are an integral part of the simulations.
