The aim of this workshop is how various types of Big Data can be used in a creative way to tackle key issues in today’s regional policy like smart specialisation, the creation of small businesses,  social inclusion of vulnerable population, the impact of migrants and refugees, ….  Especially knowing that we lack of timely available and detail  data on spatial scale for these issues.

The workshop will gather a unique platform of scholars: Paul Longley, Isabelle Thomas, Lewis Dijkstra, Catherine Linard, Filipe Batista e Silva, Hugo Poelman, Nicolas Ibañez and Panayotis Christidis. 

Target audience: Researchers and PhD students with an interest in Big data, Cities and Region Representatives, EU officials
