Simona Iammarino has been awarded the ERSA Prize in Regional Science 2024
ERSA and the Jury of the ERSA Prize Committee are pleased to announce that the ERSA Prize in Regional Science 2024 has been awarded to Professor Simona Iammarino, Professor of Applied Economics at the Department of Economics and Business of the University of Cagliari, Italy and Visiting Professor at the Department of Geography & Environment of the London School of Economics (LSE), UK.
Simona’s main research interests lie in the following areas: Multinational corporations, globalisation and local economic development; Economic geography of innovation and technological change; Regional systems of innovation; Regional and local economic development and policy. She has published more than 70 articles in major peer-reviewed journals, two co-authored books, around 30 book chapters, and numerous working papers, policy reports and other publications.
Finally, Simona Iammarino serves the scientific community in many ways: Member of the Regional Science Association International, British and Irish Section (RSAIBIS). She is a regular and appreciated contributor in ERSA Congresses (organisation of Special Sessions) as well as in Sections’ conferences. Award ceremony
The award Ceremony will take place on Friday 30 August 2024 during the Closing Session of the 63rd ERSA Congress at Terceira Island where Simona will also be invited to give a keynote presentation. #ERSAprize #ersa2024, ersa2024.ersa.org .
