This year’s edition hosts 10 outstanding University Sessions including a unique speakers line-up from ERSA Community:

#EURegionsWeekUniversity Sessions HIGHLIGHT

Objective: understand the different attitudes of the Europeans* regarding the Green Deal. *Europeans from the North and the South, the Coast and the Interior, the East and the West.

Speakers: Peter Nijkamp and Karima Kourtit (NL), Katarzyna Kopczewska and Joanna Kurowska-Pysz (PL), Gabriela Carmen Pascariu (R), Ana Vinuela (E), Umut Türk (TR) and João Lourenço Marques and Tomaz Ponce Dentinho (P)

Objective: to present the changing landscape of regional inequalities in the EU and to discuss the economic, social and political challenges for the EU, national governments and citizens.

Speakers: Yannis Psycharis (P), Andrés Rodríguez-Pose (UK), Alessandra Faggian (I), Dimitris Ballas (NL)

Objective: Explore how alternative and local food systems (ALFS) responded during the first year of the COVID-19 crisis and what the long term effects for resilience and sustainability might be.

Speakers: Zsófia Benedek, Yuna Chiffoleau, Steven McGreevy, Simona Zollet, Gusztáv Nemes

Regarding our above Agenda, please select (European Regional Science Association (ERSA) as a partner, and register for the sessions of your choice.
  2. Choose the session you want you attend and click on Add to my schedule. If you don’t have an account, you will be asked to sign it.

    Please note that the speakers and the moderators are registered for their session. All Speakers and moderators entered in CMS will be contacted by the Secretariat to complete their profile in Swapcard.

19th European Week of Regions and Cities

The European Week of Regions and Cities (#EURegionsWeek) is the biggest annual Brussels-based event dedicated to regional policy. This event serves as a platform for discussing and showcasing the development of EU cohesion policy and making decision-makers more aware of the importance of regions and cities in EU policymaking. The University Sessions and the College sessions are organized by the European Commission, Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO)and the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) advised by the Regional Studies Association European Foundation (RSA Europe) and with the cooperation of the European Regional Science Association (ERSA) and the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP).
