ERSA European Prize in Regional Science 2019

Prof. Philip McCann from University of Sheffield has been awarded for the ERSA Prize in Regional Science 2019 for his outstanding contribution in regional science and his researches in the academic circle.
During the Closing ceremony, Philip McCann gave a very capivating presentation titled ‘The Geography of Discontent: Different Narratives, Different Perspectives and Different Evidence‘ . You can download his presentation here

ERSA EPAINOS PRIZE 2019

This year the Epainos prize goes to Eduardo Ibarra-Olivo from London School of Economics, for the paper on the “Outward Foreign Direct Investment and the Skill Composition in Mexican Regions”.

RSAI fellows are distinguished scholars with a proven and recognized research record in the field of regional science. RSAI awarded Prof. Isabelle Thomas from Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium for her contribution in the regional science. more

THE HIROTADA KONHO AWARD 2018

The Hirotada Kohno Award for outstanding Service to the RSAI goes to Prof. Roberta Capello, Politecnico di Milano, Italy.

THE MARTIN BECKMAN PRIZE

Roberta Capello, editor in chief of PiRS, had the pleasure to award the two papers, recipient of the Martin Beckmann Prize 2019 as the best paper published in Papers in Regional Science in 2018: Tobias D. Ketterer and Andrés Rodríguez‐Pose, for the paper with title “Institutions vs. ‘first-nature’ geography: What drives economic growth in Europe’s regions?” and Wen Chen,  Bart Los,  Philip McCann,  Raquel Ortega‐Argilés,  Mark Thissen and Frank van Oort for the paper with title “The continental divide? Economic exposure to Brexit in regions and countries on both sides of The Channel”. more
