Doctoral Student Conference 2020 of ASRDLF

The French Speaking Section (ASRDLF) of ERSA is happy to annouce the Doctoral Students Annual Conference 2020. This year’s edition is organized by the laboratory ‘Discontinuities’ and the GIS Franco-Belgian ‘Institute of Frontiers and Discontinuities’ in partnership with the ASRDLF.

The ASRDLF Doctoral is an annual meeting of Doctoral students and confirmed researchers who are enrolled in the field of regional sciences. More generally, this session is open to any doctoral students whose work is at the crossroads of the economy and the spatial in articulation with the changes of societies, spatio-political dynamics at local, infra or supra-national scales. or which relate to land use and urban planning issues. This event is intended primarily for PhD students and researchers who examine regional issues in the fields of economics and management, geography, political science, sociology, and planning. territory, town planning, etc.

Objectives
The objective of this conference is to help Doctoral students in their research work, from the first to the last year, by offering them an information framework (career prospects), reflection and exchanges. It allows experienced researchers to know the main research trends in the field of regional sciences. It offers all the opportunity to build or expand its research networks.

Special Session ‘Border and European Integration’
This special session, which will take place on Thursday, February 27, is part of a Jean Monnet Chair ‘Border and European Integration’ which provides for the organization of a two-part doctoral seminar each year. A first part will take place in the morning and is devoted to the discussion of articles written by researchers in the presence of the latter who will expose the context in which they wrote their papers, the theoretical frameworks and the approach they have privileged in developing a critical and reflexive vision. Reference articles will be sent to participants after registration and will be discussed collectively. During the second session, the students enrolled at this special session will present their work in the same way as those described for the other thematic sessions.

How to participate in doctoral programs?
It is possible either to participate actively in the Days by presenting one’s own work, or to take part without making a presentation. Everyone is however strongly encouraged to present their research!
The Doctoral students are built on exchanges, so it is expected that any participant not only attends the entire session where he presents his research but also to other sessions and actively contributes, by questions, comments, …Participation in doctoral programs may be credited to schools and doctoral committees as a scientific activity.

This doctoral participation is free but requires pre-registration and for those who want to communicate the submission of a proposal in the form of a summary :

  • Please note: Deadline extended!
  • The completed registration form must be filed on the site before December 10, 2019  January 10, 2020 (in the logged in area, Registration tab)
  • Proposals for papers must also be submitted by December 10, 2019  January 10, 2020 (in the logged-in area, the Deposits tab, and then a summary). The summary form is below (Summary – Proposal for papers). This summary will then be evaluated by the reviewers. The papers will be published in a document given to the Doctoral members.

Participation fees
Participation in doctoral programs is free. It does not include Transportation, accommodation and dinners.
