13th Summer Conference in Regional Science of GfR
Regional economies in times of crises, demographic ageing and structural change
29 – 30 June 2023, Nuremberg, Germany
Call for Papers extended deadline: 15 April 2023
With the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in the Ukraine, the question how these ongoing crises affect regional economies, economic policies as well as individual biographies are of prime importance. Demographic ageing as well as structural change, triggered by the digital and the desired net zero transformation, among other factors, also have a significant impact on regions, companies and people. We invite researchers to present and discuss current work on these manifold challenges and their effects on, inter alia,
- firms, sectors and occupations
- housing and living
- labor market outcomes
- migration and integration
- regional economic development
- regional mobility
- spatial distribution of economic activities and residential locations.
Moreover, theoretical, empirical and policy-oriented contributions focusing on other topics related to regional science are highly welcome as well. Early-stage researchers are expressly encouraged to submit their work. We intend to organize sessions dedicated to the presentations of early-stage researchers which will be discussed by a senior researcher.
