IMPORTANT CHANGE: Now the Conference will be held on October instead of November

The Spanish and Castilian-La Mancha Associations of Regional Science have the pleasure of inviting you to participate in the XLVIII Regional Studies Meeting that will take place on the Cuenca campus of the University of Castilla-La Mancha on October 16, 17 and 18, 2024.

As has happened in previous editions, the Regional Studies Meeting is a multidisciplinary meeting point that allows an overview of regional science and the analysis of the territory as a starting point, being the main annual event that takes place in Spain. in regards to the study, debate and presentation of academic works around territorial and regional concepts.

For this XLVIII edition we have chosen the motto: “ Sustainability, water and territory: regional strategies for the challenges of the 21st century ”, which is intended to reflect the importance of addressing in a comprehensive and participatory manner the environmental, social and economic problems that affect to the regions in a context of climate change and growing demand for water resources.

Young Researcher Award

Those interested in competing for the Juan Ramón Cuadrado Young Researchers Award must submit the full text of their communication.

The submission deadline is 14 June.

All those communications that are unpublished and that meet any of these characteristics are eligible for the award:

  • Have been carried out by researchers not older than 33 years (on the dates of the congress) or
  • Two years have not elapsed since the presentation of the doctoral thesis

Communications signed by more than one researcher may receive an award if they meet the aforementioned characteristics.

For all these reasons, the organization asks interested persons to provide us with a signed declaration before June 14, stating the unpublished nature of the contribution presented, as well as compliance with the characteristics of each of the signing authors.

This statement must be scanned and sent by mail to the AECR (info@aecr.org). If you do not receive it within the indicated period, the application will be rejected.

  • Call to extended abstracts-papers start: 6 March
  • End of the deadline for presentation of extended abstracts-papers: 14 June
  • Acceptance of extended abstracts-papers: 1 July
  • Ordinary payment: ends on 15 July 15
  • Congress dates: 16-18 October
