We are happy to communicate that the Call for Application for the 7th Master Class organised within the framework of the 17th European Week of Regions and Cities is now OPEN.

ERSA is proud to collaborate in this new edition of the Master Class. This programme of great international dimension is line with one of ERSA mission:  Supporting young scientists with added-value programmes.

Event format:
The Master Class is a unique format.  It will include presentations of papers by the participants and lectures as well as panel debates with policy makers, EU officials and senior academics to improve understanding of and research on EU Cohesion Policy.

The three themes for the 2019 edition are:

  • The Future of the EU and the roles of Regions and Cities,
  • A Europe Closer to Citizens and,
  • A greener Europe

Target group:
PhD students/early career researchers undertaking research related to European Cohesion Policy. The Master Class is limited to 30 attendees from EU Member States and non-EU countries.

Application deadline:
Interested PhD students and early career researchers are requested to submit applications by the 1st May 2019, 15.00 (GMT) or 16.00 (CET). Applications and references received after this date will not be accepted.

Organisation:
The Master Class is organised and led by the European Commission, DG for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO), the European Committee of the Regions (CoR)  and the Regional Studies Association European Foundation (RSA Europe) in cooperation with the European Regional Science Association (ERSA) and the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP). A selection panel composed of these organisations will be responsible for reviewing the applications and selecting participants.
